History
of MAAAO
The Maryland Association of
Affirmative Action Officers (MAAAO) was established in March 1975 to
provide a mechanism for the advancement of equal opportunity throughout
the State of Maryland. Dedicated to the promotion of affirmative action
in both the public and private sectors, MAAAO attempts to foster growth
and understanding through sponsorship of educational programs and
seminars.
The Association
provides members with professional development opportunities through
membership meetings and the sharing and dissemination of information to
assist in implementing affirmative action goals and resolving issues of
conflict. Membership is open to any person who is responsible for Equal
Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and/or Civil Rights issues
or activities, regardless of formal organizational titles, and is
available at both institutional and individual levels. Members come from
public and private organizations.
Sustaining
membership dues for companies, institutions, or agencies are $225 per
year, and entitle the organization to enroll up to four members.
Participating (individual) membership dues are $100 per year. Membership
is on an annual basis.
