The Maryland Association of Affirmative Action Officers was established in 1975 to institute a mechanism for the promotion of equal opportunity throughout the State of Maryland. The specific objectives of the Association include promoting professional growth and development in the area of affirmative action; sharing and dissemination of information that will enhance the coordination of equal opportunity efforts; and developing management systems that will produce effective resources for affirmative action professionals.
